Alex Cameron
Alex Cameron joined the NEWS 9 team in 1995 as a general assignment reporter. In 1996, Alex began anchoring at the station, initially with NEWS 9 This Morning, and then followed in 1998 by the weekend evening newscasts. In 1999, Alex began a nearly 10-year-long stint of co-anchoring the 4 p.m. news, as well as reporting daily for NEWS 9 at 5, 6 and 10 p.m.
Cameron grew up on the East Coast, living in both Maryland and New Jersey. He attended Bucknell University and the University of Heidelberg in Germany. He later received a master’s degree in journalism at New York University where
his thesis earned him the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences prestigious College Television Award in 1988. He started his broadcasting career in radio in Delaware, where he also landed his first television job.
