Why We Need Imagination, Creativity and Innovation in a Test-Driven World

Come hear author of Imagination First and former Director of the Lincoln Center Institute, Scott Noppe-Brandon, share his education expertise

Education is not rocket science, it is harder!

Figuring out how to do all in education that is needed, wanted, desired, required and ordered is complex. So complex that often the immediate goals get pushed aside, left to fester unattended. Great societies debate important question and hopefully humankind benefits. Yet sometimes the answers are not linear or straight forward.

Can ICI coexist in high stakes educational, social and financial settings that require testing and quantitative measurements? I am asked this question every day and in multiple ways. This talk will explore the “why, how, and what” of this question and look at the current state of education across the land and globe. We will explore whether we are better off thinking outside or inside the box as we strive to answer this question.
